BigDoor to Sponsor Inaugural Gamification Summit
Type: News
BigDoor, a developer of gamification platforms that increase user engagement, loyalty and monetization, announced its Platinum Sponsorship for the inaugural Gamification Summit held in San Francisco, California on January 20-21.
The Gamification Summit will bring together thought leaders in game mechanics and engagement science.
"At BigDoor, we've been developing our gamification platform over the past year and a half and we're really excited to be a part of the first Gamification Summit," said Keith Smith, BigDoor co- founder and CEO. "We believe gamification will revolutionize the internet. The BigDoor API is flexible, easy to use and open. We work with the needs of online community owners to determine the right game layer and virtual economy that will increase user engagement for their site, bringing out the best gamification experience possible."
"Gamification is all about user engagement and 2011 promises to truly be the year for game mechanics," said Gabe Zichermann, Gamification Summit Chairman and author of Game-Based Marketing. "The Gamification Summit will bring together some of the most important people in the field. With keynotes, panels, case studies and workshops, attendees will learn how to apply game mechanics to their businesses in order to make them more fun and profitable."
In addition to a keynote presentation from Zichermann, the Gamification Summit will feature Amy Jo Kim, internationally-known designer of social gaming environments and CEO of Shufflebrain; and Jane McGonigal, world-renowned game designer and author of "Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World" as well as other leaders in the space.
