Vic: Machete gang attack two men in city
In Melbourne, two men are in hospital with severe machete wounds after being set upon in
separate attacks by a gang in the city last night.
One victim, a 26-year-old man, has been found by detectives at St Vincent's Hospital, where
he went to have severe cuts to his right hand treated.
The man has told detectives he was attacked by a group of six to eight men of Asian
appearance at about 3am in Russell Street.
Detective Sergeant IAN GEDDES from Melbourne CIB believes the same people are responsible
for a later attack on another 26-year-old man, who will be operated on today.
He says he is apalled at the vicious nature of the attack and is baffled as to the motive.
